Our Compression Cutter with Chipbreaker has high tool rigidity, long tool life and high quality all-round finish. While an Up Cut gives a great bottom finish, and a Down Cut a great top finish, a Compression Cutter gives a great finish on both sides of the material. The compression geometry of these tools prevents chipping and furring on the top and bottom surfaces of the material being cut.

This compression cutter starts with an Up Cut component usually the length of the diameter (i.e 9.5mm), so to maximise the cutter's finish quality, first cut below that length (i.e 9.5mm or more). Compression cutters are best run a little faster than other cutting bits in order to get the best finish on both sides of the material.

The addition of the chipbreaker design on this compression cutter is designed to give the optimum edge finish of the compression cut with faster feed rates. Eliminates furring in soft material. It will leave a smaller striated finish.
NOTE: Best used for massive wood only.
